Unkempt Cemetery

Headstone words weathered away
trees fallen in growth again
leaves layered
mushrooms gather in
hallowed television casings
showing plastic flowers still
clinging to life
the chaotical border unherded
knockings of woodpeckers
treating two by fours
ending at rusted nails...

(even at this snails pace
seen is her face
where twisted tears were wiped
from this life and strife)

...and in the proteins and minerals
spirits of chains commanded
for pleasures locked up and away
stay! -- stay!! -- stay!!!

Un-holy fallacy
embalmed for money
basket case
casket race
stones bigger than the jones.

Here lies
lives of men
and the women under them
as soils layer
harden and decay
deposited are rains
with base behaviors
perpetuated
underrated and raped
definitions of persons
rights and picket fences
for horses with no heads.

The clock strikes Cuckoo
and the eggs fall
and shatter
in a dump
a heap
never to become living
but the unkempt cemetery bursts forth into life.
